Shelagh McGovern, TMCRN

Since the age of five, dancing has been my passion. Some may think, "Shelagh, that's not a long time, you're still so young." In response, all I can say is, "Flattery will get you everywhere!"

My teaching journey began at 18, after a successful career in competitive solo and team dancing, reaching championship level. Back then, 18 was the age when dancers typically left the competitive scene. Nowadays, dancers continue as long as their passion drives them, and I encourage everyone to do the same.

In 1999, I founded McGovern Irish Dance, and our growth has been steady ever since. I deeply appreciate the commitment and loyalty shown by my dancers, their parents, and families to my school and Irish dance. Each dancer is cherished, and I enjoy building relationships with their families.

My goal is to create a welcoming environment with open communication. If you have any concerns, questions, or need help, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Shelagh's devotion lies with her dancers and all things related to Irish dance. She devotes countless hours to perfecting their steps, crafting intricate routines, and nurturing their talents. Shelagh's eyes beam with pride as her dancers grace the stage, their feet echoing a rhythm that resonates with the soul of Ireland. The music fills the air, carrying the essence of past generations. Through every graceful movement, Shelagh's passion shines brightly, a symbol of her unwavering dedication and love for the art of Irish dance.
