Basic Irish Dance Steps and MovementsThey’ll be introduced to foundational steps like the “1-2-3s” and the “7s,” which are core movements in Irish dance. These steps are fun and easy to learn, giving them a feel for Irish rhythm and timing.
Coordination, Balance, and Posture
Irish dance focuses on control and posture, helping your child improve their balance, coordination, and body awareness. These skills also benefit their overall physical development.
Teamwork and Focus
Through group dances, they’ll learn to work in sync with others, helping build teamwork skills and focus. Dancers also gain confidence as they work toward short routines or group presentations.
A Taste of Irish Culture
Classes often include a bit of Irish music and culture, helping kids appreciate the rich traditions behind the dance. This cultural connection makes the experience more meaningful and fun!By the end of the session, your child will have a basic understanding of Irish dance, along with increased confidence and skills they can carry into other activities.
Dancers should wear clothing that allows them to move freely. Shorts and t-shirts are fine. Gym shoes, ballet slippers of any color or jazz shoes will work fine too. We do prefer to have long hair pulled out of face and off neck.
After each session or camp, your child can choose to sign up for another session or join our full program in the fall.
